This project was a 5,000 square foot addition to the U.S. Park Police Station at the National Park, Turkey Run. The facility provides a public lobby, administrative offices, detention rooms, interview/conference rooms, computer rooms and support spaces.

The design for the addition required preservation of the existing historically significant site on which it sits. All work was performed in accordance with natural and cultural resources management guidelines. The design also incorporated sustainable design principles adopted and employed by the U.S. Park Service as stated in Guiding Principles of Sustainable design.

The police facility addition included the renovation of existing spaces in order to reconfigure the administrative support areas to meet the programmatic requirements and improve circulation throughout the facility. Security features were a key part of this project and included access control systems via key card readers, video surveillance throughout the existing facility and the addition, and wireless intrusion detection systems.
